I do worry that Vassell coming back is going to give the Spurs an edge over Detroit and Houston at the worst possible time. His absence is a huge reason we just set a franchise record for consecutive losses.
Need the worst record to get guaranteed top 5 pick. Second worst for top 6 right now.
If we have some solid pieces with a Wembyama then we should be able to turn it around like they did in ‘90 and ‘98 when we drafted David and Duncan. Guess we’ll see? 🤷🏽♂️🤔
With Wemby it will take two years (like Luka in Dallas) without him probably three (depends who we get in 2024)

The Spurs need to be bad next year as well (which is going to be difficult with how good our players are), we don't have to get the first pick next year but top 6 would be perfect. Then after a couple of years of experience maybe an early playoffs exit and within 3-4 years they are a contender. But we have to be bad another season to really stack this team with cheap talent and have a bunch of draft picks to use in the future
