  1. Regular season title should matter as much as the chip. But for some reason in the states we under celebrate the league play.

  2. After 5mins of absolutely unwatchable ball, we switched it to the Rico Hines summer runs (and others) where star players were going at 70-90% on their own dime.
How about they get those 25players to all be there this summer at the same time to see top players going at each other

  3. Imagine paying all that money to go watch all star game and all you see are people shooting 3s and players moving to the side so another player can dunk LMAO very sad

  4. If you want to fix the all-star game, you need to incentivize the players. I think there are 2 solutions. Solution number 1 is easy and stupid: incentivize them with money. Solution number 2 is my preferred solution: Instead of captains picking the players, it's the East vs West like it used to be. It is the best talent from the East against the best talent from the West. Then you give them big incentivization, something that will make players care, and for that, the game needs some stakes. How about whichever team wins, their conference representative gets a home-court advantage in the finales? I get that it can create some problems, but you need to have some skin in the game to care, and players especially the best players in the league will care because their teams are most likely to end up in the finales.

  5. The All Star Game should be teams of 3 on 3 in a tournament style, half court. So there's something like 8 teams, first to 10 wins, streetball, call your own fouls. Put some pride in it.

  6. The Nuggets are the Rodney Dangerfields of the NBA. I keep hearing on the TV that "the West is wide open". The Nuggets need to put a chip in their shoulders during the rest of the regular season and the playoffs and kick some ass. They need to put up some of those quotes on the bulletin board.

How to fix the All-star game? Easy. Eliminate the three-point shot and go back to East vs West. The abomination that was that "game" last night should never be allowed to happen again.

  7. Whole AS weekend was a disgrace, nothing but a glorified sponsor showcase with more emphasis on plugging shoe deals than any real display of BB skill for the fans. Not only was is immensely boring, but it was actually uncomfortable to watch

  8. Nuggets don’t have an American superstar, Jokic is European and Jamal is Canadian. They don’t have a player on their roster that is ingrained in USA bball and part of the so called hardcore superstar fraternity. Fwiw, I think it’s BS. That’s why I agree with Adam in every way, Nuggets have to be the Spurs. Duncan was never truly accepted and I have him higher on my GOAT list than Kobe. I’m in the minority but could care less. Nuggets just have to embrace their identity and do their talking on the court.

  9. Jokic did the outsider thing to himself. You can't be mad that he was treated like one. Best player in the league. He does not care

  10. I never thought I’d care this much about all star weekend and how the nuggets are viewed and represented in the league. Maybe I’m just having a day and am in my emotions but this discussion to me was profound and really hit me in the feels. Great stuff as always DNVR thanks

  11. Our sh*t culture (an important byproduct of our sh*t political economic system) has begun seeping into the nba. It was only a matter of time. I appreciated this discussion/critique of all star!

  12. I’m with Wind – only money could motivate the players to play hard. Could make the game have implications for the regular season somehow (which would, in turn, impact player money).

  13. Worth noting about the Nuggets offense "only" being 0.3 points better than Sacramento's offense, is that when you only look at games against top 10 teams, it is 3.8 points per game better. Which is 2.5 points clear of Boston, the second best offense against top 10 teams.(The Celtics also have the best defense against top 10 teams by far though)

Also, against bottom 10 teams, The Nuggets are actually straight up in the middle of the pack offensively. They are not just less good, there offense is worse against bottom 10 teams.

  14. Nuggets first ever 16-12 championship run. 4 straight 3-1 comebacks, causing ever Nuggets fan to have multiple heart attacks

  15. Unfortunately, that comment about nothing mattering but a championship is true, but it's not like the players just decided that one day. It was a couple decades of loudmouths on drive time radio, ESPN yelling head shows with a smattering of grumpy old players mad younger players make more than them, and internet commentariat reducing everything about the NBA to entirely about winning rings. Eventually the players heard that if you don't have a ring your year or career or what you did on a random January Tuesday night when you busted your butt to play on a back to back don't matter so they now act accordingly.

  16. I think if we're angry that KCP/MPJ got passed over for the 3pt contest in favor of big stars who are worse shooters, then we should at least appreciate that the NBA brought in Mac McClung, who is clearly a superior dunker in the league despite not being a star. I know it's not exactly the same cuz no stars wanted to do the dunk contest, but the NBA decided to bring in a nobody cuz they knew he'd put on a good show for the fans, which is what we're asking for: Talent > Name/Market

On the one hand you're angry they picked huge names over smaller name nuggets guys despite talent difference, but then you say nobody wants to watch Mac McClung despite how good he was cuz we wanna see the stars dunk. I think those are opposite sentiments.

  17. Congratulations to Vogt on winning the dunk contest. Who knew that 'white man' could jump 😆Jokes aside, Jokic summed it up best by stating he didn't belong as All Star game is beyond a joke and Coach Malone is correct that that wasn't basketball so maybe it time to pull the pin??? Great show guys!

  18. I think Jok was picked 2nd last because both Lebron and Giannis are threatened by him. You know they've seen that last MVP straw poll and with Nikola getting 77 of 100 first place votes. So they're thinking(especially Bron because he just that way, maybe it's the TRT and HGH?)let's take this dude down a peg or two confidence-wise. Maybe my opinion is petty and conspiratorial, but boys but I'm laying it out there. Also make the All Star game for home court advantage in the Finals…then watch em ball out…tho I know that'll never happen.

  19. The Celtics “SuoerTeam” and “The Decision” from Lebron was the beginning of all this garbage. Players not having to play out their contracts and demand trades is at the core of this issue. It’s just plain bad for the game.

  20. No question…not only does Murray have another level beyond what we've seen this season: he has a level beyond the bubble that is coming to this playoffs. He will average over 30 ppg and be Finals mvp.

  21. The DNVR guys were in special form trying to twist themselves into a pretzel in this one. They a.) Wanted to validate Jokic not giving af about ASG by claiming he 'is above it'. b.) Rag on Tatum for actually trying to make it entertaining. C. ) Criticise players for not caring enough. Lmao! Make up your damn minds! Jokic ( Along with most ) was a big reason why the game was so boring. No effort whatsoever. You can't call Tatum a 'try-hard' and then ( in the same sentence), say that players need to 'try- harder'.

  22. The all star selection is a status achievement only that can be used by the player in future contract negotiations. The all star game is completely meaningless otherwise.
