LeBron and Giannis don’t play the whole game… Add that to a lackluster Saturday night (other than Mac’s dunks)…

Despite Utah putting together a great platform, is NBA allstar weekend broken? Or is this just the way of things?

  2. Awesome that someone steps up and speaks honestly about it. I think one thing they could do is remove any personal awards from the game. No MVP. That way you don’t end up with Tatum/Mitchell just hoarding the ball and taking 80% of all the shots in the game.

I think the game should decide which conference gets home court advantage in the finals. This of course would mean it would have to go back to East v West, but at least it would put some meaning to the game.

I don’t think they’d go for it because of potential injuries though

Well it’s a game with the biggest egoes in Basketball playing. This should rather be played after NBA season or before season starts like 1 month earlier. There might be more incentive for players to test the meddle of players then. But there is nothing you can fix this as nobody wants to tire themselves out and risk injury.

I get how people don’t want injuries, but just get rid of the All-Star game then if they’re not gonna play and they’re just gonna be goofing off etc.

I guess I have the minority opinion then, but I thought that game was one of the funnest to watch in a while!

  7. Back in the 90s they would give player bonuses to the winning team, and they used to actually play some degree of defense back then. Watched the 93 game on YouTube and it was night and day.

Just drop it, shorten the season length by a week and have the 3 point contest and dunk contest at the end of the year. The rest doesn’t matter. The accolades that matter are all NBA team.
