    > Like the still air which precedes a tempest, he awaits, poised, patient, and prepared. But make no mistake: the storm is coming.

I didn’t realize that the Blazers have the tallest leapers in the NBA, with Keon at a 48″ vertical and Sharpe at 49″. That’s stupefying.

“*In a word, Sharpe floats. The phenomenon is distinct and unmistakable. The colloquial term for it is hang-time, and it’s his defining characteristic as a dunker. Wows of the most sincere variety are inspired by the utter defiance of gravity it expresses — the impossibility of it — and the effortlessness with which it is employed. Announcers marvel at it, the Blazer bench revels in it. It’s like a magic trick; it messes with the mind.*”

Nicely written tribute piece. Thanks for sharing this!

“*Make no mistake: the storm is coming.*”
