They won’t until the homeless camps are cleaned up in the hotel areas and arena area.

Eh. Maybe let’s focus on fixing the franchise first.

I feel like this story of why we don’t get an all-star keeps changing. First it was we didn’t have enough hotel space. Now the RG needs renovation. Feels like it’s not in the cards for us.

Good read. Covers stuff we knew and compiles it all in one picture but for fucks sake, do they always have to pull in Phil Knights name? Fuck that slaver.

I can not see Portland hosting an All-Star game. I think that ship has sailed. Back in the Roy era I definitely thought Portland could but not now. The city has been destroyed, homeless people everywhere pan handling or tweaked out all over the side walks. I worked downtown for 3 weeks and saw two dead bodies picked up by an ambulance. The police don’t patrol downtown from 3am to 5am so it’s literally like a post apocalyptic feeling with fires and bums/drug addicts running wild. Lets not forget to mention that the city roads and public transit can’t even keep up with the amount of people that already live there and now you want to bring in tens of thousands more people for one week? I won’t even bring up all of the entertainment venues that were forced to close due to covid and the riots…help fix the city before you put a date on trying to host an All-Star game because it’s going to take a lot longer than six years.

Hold on everybody. We can set up traps in Voodoo Donuts for Giannis. Giannis can’t play for the Bucks if he can’t leave Portland, but there is one team he could play for.

We need a new arena it seems like.. I wonder where it would go because the city won’t allow the old coliseum to be destroyed

  8. Real talk: Seattle will get an All-Star game before Portland ever does.

No one watches the ASG anymore, who cares if it ever comes here?
