“With about two months remaining in the regular season, the ticklish situation could have led to another infamous blowup. It’s one reason the Cavs were so willing to honor his buyout request. His unquantifiable impact on the organization over the years is another.”

    He should’ve played better.

Then there wouldn’t have been any issues.

I just don’t understand…why he gotta be like that?

It is a weird exit. I was disappointed we didn’t really get to see Love and Rubio together this season. Love’s defense was not good, but he was perfectly playable before his hand injury messed up his shooting. I was hoping more time to heal over the break would have helped him find his form and he could have reestablished his bench chemistry with Rubio.

“Bickerstaff and Love haven’t spoken since last week’s game in Philly — even though Bickerstaff said he reached out after the buyout news.”

Dude is really acting like a high school girl after a break up lol. Ignoring everyone and posting cryptic messages on social media

  6. If he was unhappy, then the buyout was the only option. We couldn’t risk another blow up. I love Kevin and all that he did here, but this doesn’t look great on him.

Love has an ego as an nba player and was mad he was out of the rotation cuz of JB. The organization and Love reached an agreement cuz Love wasn’t happy, did it without too much buzz, and Love didn’t exit the organization with too much drama. If Love performs on the Heat then he proved JB wrong.

  8. Oh yeah but the Godfather Miami clip was just because he loves the movies, sure fellas

Please for the love of God, I hope this page does not get flooded with this crap when the season picks up again. It’s time to move on.

Unfortunately, everything he’s doing is a stain on his legacy and future. Cavs org. bent over backwards and lost out on moving his contract before the deadline. He made 100’s of millions of dollars playing for the CAVS and we let him leave on HIS terms which weren’t even favorable to his teammates. Grow the F up and appreciate the fact your jersey will be hung in the rafters and keep it to yourself brah. You only lose fans doing this.

Cleveland did KLove right in granting his buyout quickly after his request.

Kevin comes across as pretty damn entitled here.

Dude made more money in the last five years than almost anyone else makes ever. 1 percent kind of money over the five year period. And, he couldn’t swallow his ego enough to sit on the bench for the next few months and stay ready for when we need him.

He has a history of being a poor teammate when things aren’t going his way so this isn’t surprising. Luckily, he’s gone now so we don’t have to worry about him having an effect on team chemistry. Will be nice to see him when his jersey is retired, but until then go Cavs!

couldn’t help but laugh when the heat released their welcome video for him where the 2nd sentence out of his mouth was “all i care about is winning.”

oh? so you wanted to be bought out and go to a team that’s 5 games behind your current team? clever!

I wanted to move on. Love was a liability on defense. Wade is an upcoming talent that needs the reps and is part of the future. Love had the injury that impacted his ability to the shoot the three. He doesn’t really have much else to offer. He’s been highly emotional in the past and had quit on the team multiple occasions. Don’t want that Kevin Love on the bench. People keep bring up the 2016 win. Yet even that got old. We were paying 29 million to ride the bench. I rather would have gotten something for him, but honestly, I think he has less than two years in him. If he wants to spend his remaining time on the floor, he needed to go to a different team. I guess he got what he wanted. Hopefully he retires as a Cav but if not its whatever. I never thought he was ever the best player on a competitive Cavs team. Or even the second best player.

We signed this man to a $120 million deal out of pure appreciation, pretty disappointing to see him go out like this. Don’t care though, we got a squad and he wasn’t helping

Poor Kevin Love! How dare they *checks notes* not play him, when he looks like shit. This is one step too far for me. He wasn’t acting like a moody teenager for like 1.5 years. He never lived up to billing and idk how important he really was to those title runs. Does this guy really deserve his jersey retired?

  18. As others have pointed out on this thread, we overpaid him ($120M/4 years) to be a mentor to a young team after Bron and Kyrie left. The thought was that he’d help build a winning culture. He did anything but….hurt for long stretches, and then had a poor attitude when he wasn’t. He had a mini-Renaissance last year when things were going well, but the minute things aren’t going well — even though we have been statistically and objectively better with him off the floor — he asks out. He should have been grateful to the Cavs for what they did for him with that contract, but instead acts like a petulant child. Good riddance.

Always grateful for him – but he seems awfully entitled in this

  20. love and kyrie both going out sour kinda sucks
